Smiths Lawn 5th August 2013

Sam Penn

Wow - pleasantly suprised! Smiths Lawn has had a make over and it is definietly more 'rider' friendly, with the cross country course sited closer to the other phases, less walking required and the cross country course more opened up.

Just the two rides today, Cooper and Wesley both competing in the BE100, an early start to beat the traffic and then an easy day, with Cooper completing all three phases before Wesley starts his.

Cooper (Foxs Castle) did a superb Dressage test for a mark of 25.5, he jumped a lovely clear show jumping and gave me an incredible ride cross country, he felt straight and bold! A well deserved win for Cooper.

Wesley (Lucky turn) also did a lovely dressage test to score a pleasing mark of 23.5, an unlucky pole down show jumping cost him the class and we had to settle for 2nd place.

Both these horses will now head to Firle horse trials later in the month for a BE100 and then we will look to enter Cooper in a Novice before the end of the season.
