After 9 seasons at Golden Cross E.C I am finally taking the jump into the unknown and setting up on my own. The decision has largely been made due to Ian’s decision to put the yard on the market and enjoy a less stressful life, however he will continue to be involved in Sam Penn Eventing, both as an owner and has (bravely) volunteered to be my ‘entries secretary’!!

I cannot even begin to say Thank You to Ian for his support over the past years, as he has given me the opportunity and the framework within which to turn my dreams into my livelihood, I began working for him early in 2006, having previously ridden in just 3 pre-novice events, and culminated in making my 4* debut at Burghley last year with 707. There are few people who would have taken on a rider with so little experience and had the faith to support them through many mistakes and some steep learning curves. I hope that Ian will be able to really enjoy being an owner and getting out to many more events to see his horses run, rather than staying at the yard, running shows and nervously waiting for telephone updates! I wish him every success with his future plans.

Our new base will be at Sarah Jane Knights’ beautiful yard, Richmond Farm Stables, nr Horsham in West Sussex, 14 stables, a huge outdoor, walker, plenty of turnout and direct access to bridleways, with Sands Farm, Royal Leisure, LMEQ, Coombelands and importantly, the M25 all within easy reach. we are very fortunate that  our chiropractor Olivia Jones and dentist Carl Duggan will continue to offer their services in our new premises. Our new veterinary practice will be Arundel Equine. A huge Thank –You to Howard Newitt, Reuben Whittaker and the rest of the team at Milbourne Equine who have taken such great care of us for so many years.

We shall be moving at the beginning of October and although all of my current owners have been hugely supportive and are making the move with us, we shall have spaces available in the new yard for new clients, be they eventing/breaking/schooling or hunting livery with also a very limited number of part livery spaces. We also have opportunities to buy into 2 very special syndicated horses. For any further information, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
