Last event of the  season for me and now I have moved yard it was lovely and local, just half an hour away, which was very handy as I was riding four horses over the three days, very spaced out time s and all rather relaxing!

Friday was pouring with rain but a very civilised start time of just before midday worked perfectly for me as it meant I was able to do the yard and ride others before heading off eventing. Wesley, Sarah Hayters little coloured stallion was once again the star of the show, he did a lovely dressage test to score 26.5 and had an unfortunate pole down showjumping – he is really beginning to grow up, except for a slight drama when he took a dislike to an umbrella as he entered the start box he once again gave me a superb ride cross country and went on to win his third PN in a row.  Clever pony, he has competed in seven horse trials with me and has four 1st’s, two 2nd’s and an unlucky 13th – he will now have a holiday before being graded by CHAPs in November.

Returning to Pulborough on Saturday with Flight who was having a run HC did a nice dressage test , unfortunately he had two green fences down showjumping but was good cross country, we got time penalties but as I was competing HC I like to school them round and use it as a grounding for the future – if we had been competitive he would of finished in the top 12 which shows that he has a competitive future ahead of him. Flight has come on so much and he will also have a well deserved holiday ready for next season.

Candide was very well behaved, giving me a lovely ride for the last event of the year for her and possibly for us as she is currently for sale,  finishing on her dressage score of 29 and a lovely double clear, she finished in 2nd place, just behind the winner by half a point.

Sunday was definitely luxury eventing, doing the yard prior to go eventing and just having to turn up and ride the horse was very different for me (but I could get ued to it, hehe) – today I rode Kevin’s lovely new grey horse Virtical Line, he did a smart dressage test and was superb cross country, we were competing BE90 so I had to ride HC but if we had been in the section competitively we would of finished in the top 5 which again is a promising result for the future.

Well that’s it for me and Eventing 2013 – I will now spend the winter competing in show jumping and dressage. With lots planned for the coming months, gradings, teaching and clinics. New horses to get acquainted with, youngsters to back and horses that are in for schooling – the eventers will be having a well-earned holiday but I certainly won’t be getting one!
